Little Wars; a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books.Oh yes, not only is that the L O N G E S T book title ever but it's for: that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books.
Thank-you, Mr Wells. I realise now that during my teenage years, when I may have played Role-Playing games*, the fact that girls shunned me like the plague was because they were not as intelligent as me and not because I was the biggest nerdiac in this area of the solar system.
From the Wikipedia Article:
Little Wars is recognised today as the first recreational wargame and Wells is regarded by gamers and hobbyists as "the Father of Miniature Wargaming."* I admit nothing. Any comments about Dungeons & Dragons or Role-Playing games are for literary purposes only and any similarity to persons living or dead or myself is purely coincidental.
Note to self: remind me to relate the time that I was picked on by the kids who played D&D ... inside a game of D&D! Oh yes.
