Sunshine

It is such a beautiful day.

From my desk I have a view across docklands in one direction and the city in the other.

I think I will be taking an extra long lunch to meander by the water.

Maybe some of the last week has been never ending grey skies?

Living Colour last night was amazing. Even though i don't like their music so much on their albums, live they were out of this world. Wil Calhoun has to be seen and heard to be believed ... the most fantasically musical drummer I've ever heard. He played a couple of blitzing solos, including one that must have been 15 minutes; playing across samples and using electronic percussion as well. Rather than just playing the beat, he plays the beat with a wall of accents and feather-light cross rythms. Absolutely amazing.

Makes me want to get my sorry self back into regular practice. I pretty much just jam and play at band practice at the moment, don't do any rudiments or exercises anymore. Slack bastard.

I need another band. Kubric is very fun, but musically, I have slightly different tastes, and we can't seem to get enough critical mass to get back playing live. And that's the whole point for me ... performance is were it all comes together.

I'll stop rambling. Go get some sunshine.
