My gran plans to form the Justice League of trivia appears to have run into brick wall across the highway of dreams that is the winter hibernation (and illness) of my friends.
But I will be going and you're all welcome. East Brunswick Hotel from 7ish. I'll be the man in the Barbie shirt with the hair that is the result of wanting to look like a cross between Luke Skywaker and Data.

Man, I'd love to go and astonish everyone with my amazing fish knowledge, but I'm in lockdown this week and Canberra the next. Maybe I'll see you and your Barbie shirt in the Tuesday week?
oh no, tonight is impossible for me too. the magazine goes to print this week, which involves the office keeping me on a [conceptual] short leash. i will definitely come next week though, and i'll be ready to inflict maximum damage on unsuspecting fools...
I look forward to meeting you both in the very near future.
And man, do we need help with our trivia! We didn't do too badly, all things considered, but not great either.
Toby I think that now you have worked out your team's weak areas, you need to recruit accordingly...
Oh, and hopefully I will make an appearance next week. Tuesday's aren't my best day though.
Hmm. There wasn't supposed to be an apostrophe in Tuesdays was there. I HATE when people put apostrophe's where there dont need to be any, but dont put them when they should. :p
Apostrophe's are way harder than they need to be.
It was all music, pop culture and trach culture.
We need someone who knows about music, basically.
And I am prepared to read Who Weekly for the team. I give, I am that sort of person.
they're not THAT complicated...
And I thought YOU knew about music?
As it turns out, no.
I play the music, but I have no idea about who released what when and who they co-wrote what with.
This is perhaps a result of many years spent being a pretentious bastard who refused to listen to 'mainstream' music and who may have been know to buy things by Record Label.
Those days are safely behind me.
I mean, I only discovered the 80s about two months ago! I lived through it, but was mostly playing Lego. But Oh My Gawd! The music! It is wicked.
Your life must be all the more joyful having discovered the 80s!
80s music is awesome. I used to work in a nightclub that played only "retro" music... so i've heard it all, and unfortunately, I know most of it word for word.
tammiodo, how can that be unfortunate? i bet you'd be an ace karaoke partner. i like to sing "electric dreams" at karaoke, and it always looks better if you already know the words. that way, instead of concentrating on the screen, you can devote more energy to your y.t.t-esque choreography...
Heh. Heh. I like to count Karaoke as one of my "skills." No seriously though, i LOVE karaoke, mainly because i'm just SO good at it. I once won a karaoke competition when i was at some random pub (i think it was actually the Clifton Hotel), and i was asked to come back for their grand final at the end of the year, but it was on the day after i went overseas for 4 months.
