OK, for various reasons that I cannot tell you about in a public forum, I am totally fucking gobsmacked by some events in my professional life. In a good way.
But yes, some good music at the Northcote Social Club tonight! Including accordion with distortion, which I am personally quite excited about. I shall be there and if my housemate lends me some money I may well buy you a drink. I may even tell you what I am so excited about.

You're president of Tanzania?!
Well done for good things. If you're not musicked out you should come to the Rob Roy tomorrow night to see Aleks and the Ramps, complete with Rock Eisteddford esque choreographed moves.
President of Namibia, actually. First step is the forceable removal of certain celebrity couples.
And a Rock Eistedford!
Oh wicked.
I have to be good tomorrow though because I am riding to Altona to get my motorbike learners at 8am Saturday morning.
Good meaning not trolleyed and bed before dawn.
I hope you don't die learning how to ride a death cycle of death. Not that I have a problem with motorbikes.
The show's actually on saturday. Days have no meaning for me any more now that I spend all my time in libraries.
don't you hate it when you read about things after they've happened? I have a particular knack for doing that.
Toby you have to weigh up whether the amount of money spent protecting the privacy of certain celebrity honorary Namibian citizens is worth more than the generous donation they've made to healthcare in the country...
I've been getting that "Don't Die" message a lot. And I've had to study a book put out by Vic Roads entitled "So you've decided to die: How to extend your life by oh, about 3 minutes after buying a motorcycle".
This, like, boxing, is all symptomatic of my ongoing premature mid-life crisis. I was always a precocious child. First born, you see.
Saturday will be tricky as I have a Male Bonding, I mean Poker Night with the "Lads". But last time I hit my testosterone limit quite early, deliberately lost all my chips and cleared out ...
And Tam, doh! The gig was excellent.
LONG LIVE FIRST BORNS
(within reason. i don't want to go out with diapers and whatnot)
Motorbikes and boxing can't possibly be a sign of a mid-life crisis. I do boxing, and i'm looking into getting a bike... I think it's more likely a quarter-life crisis. All the cool kids are having one these days you know...
Yay! I'm one of the cool kids.
Or at least doing the same things they do in a desperate attempt to gain acceptance.
Well, if you get the time you should pop by. I'll be the blonde with the big red tattoo dancing like a drunk uncle at a wedding.
i think you're cooler than the cool kids.
Both of you... except Rach isn't quite as cool, because she said something about death bikes of death. So motorbikes are obviously her favourite thing 4EVA!! Although, the fact that she dances like a crazy drunk uncle redeems her somewhat...
I dunno, Rach sounds just as cool to me, she probably just channels her death wish into her school work or something.
I can't wait to be a crazy drunk uncle. With the name Toby, it's always been on the cards. Museli Bars for everyone!
Oh, and just found poker starts early so I may get to come dance tomorrow!
Heh, you scene slut, you totally have an event section.
The Ramps are playing in the sticky floored glory that is the Rob Roy, actually.
*behold groupie girl*
Fixed. Thanks.
Scenster! I should just get a diary ... and also a subtle way of promoting my own gigs without looking like a (total) toss. You know, 93% toss.
Ah 93% isn't total, but it certainly is near enough to total to be rounded up.
Surely it's rounded to 95%
Well, if you do come by the Rob Roy and you want to track me down, in addition to the tattooed blonde dancing embarrassingly, I am also bespectacled and likely to be wearing red. Lots of it. I don't belong in this town.
Funny: I didn't see this until today but I pretty much knew who you were.
Curious.
Best. Band. Ever.
I now wholeheartedly intend to go to any gig you recommend.
I'm glad to hear it. It was good to see you, and nice to know I'm recognisable. The Ramps are the rockingest. Next time you'll have to dance with us nutty kids. Shultz moves like Krishna.
Hmmm. I don't know if you can really do 95% Never do anything in halves...even half of 10%.
