Nothing much to report. Trivia result was a disappointing second place and the prize of a cheeky red. For cheeky read cheap and acidic. But the gang were there and delightful as ever. Next week we are going to hang out and watch Spaced instead. Or something.
- iGallop. The video is a must-see. I think I need one to help tone rock-hard abs for summer.
- Seth Godin (one of my guys) talks about ballot design. He suggests that the ballot is poorly designed, but maybe it's actually genius, designed to confuse voters and ensure that in the worse case scenario a loss can be challenged in court, hanging-chad style. Not that the US isn't a democracy or anything.*
- Summary of Why Smart People Do Dumb Things.
- New York Times - Five Years of Consequence.
- More Americans have now died in Iraq than on September 11. What the fuck can you say that encompasses the continuing fucking tragedy of this shit?
- Woman found with one arm severed
A woman was found wandering along a stretch of the M8 near Glasgow with one arm severed. She is said to have told that she had been to a nightclub and had been chased by a man after leaving…

Could it be that in the great evolutionary “family tree,” it is we Modern Humans, not the brow-ridged, large-nosed Neandertals, who are the odd uncle out?
- For the Apocalypse: Ultimate Secure Home.
- Podcasts. I don't get it. But then, I don't get the radio either.
- Today I have already mostly learnt about Reification:
the consideration of an abstraction or an object as if it had human or living existence and abilities; at the same time it implies the thingification of social relations.
- Speaking of Marx, I want to join the Communist Party:

One day, you and Crush will have to check out my MAGNETIC DRESS-UP LENIN FRIDGE MAGNETS.
He had a magnetic personality and now you can dress him to match.
Oh yes. Dress Lenin as a nun.
And speaking of thingification/ reification. I had a conversation on the weekend about the stupidity of some graffitti that told us to trust in the universe the way it trusts us.
I can't believe I'm leaping to the defence of podcasts, however if not me, then who?
I download a couple of radio programs that are inconvenient to listen to, being Sunday Night Safran (in bed by then) and The Health Report (at work.) I also have recently found a couple of programs on home recording that are informative.
I'm not a radio person either, but the podcasts cut out the ads, music and other random stuff and give me what I actually want to hear. Look at it as 'efficient listening.'
Dude, have you read this yet? (Bet you haven't. It'd explain a lot ...)
:)
That communist party t-shirt is GOLD. Please tell me one is on it's way to KP.
"I notice a distinct lack of blogging going on around here," he said sternly. "I suspect someone is having far too much crush-action to want to blog. Outrageous!"
*whistles nonchalantly*
Dynamite tee-shirt. I can think of just the person for it. Thank you.
*watches tumbleweed*
Watching Spaced, what a brilliant idea! I think I need to watch season 2 again soon, I have forgotten some of it. It's the kind of thing that needs an airing at least once a year, along with The Office and the Mighty Boosh DVDs. Rock on.
