Went to the park with my chess board and Silman's impressively dense opus How to Reassess Your Chess - The Complete Chess-Mastery Course. Worked through the chapter entitled Minor Pieces in the Middlegame - The Bishop. I still don't quite have the ability to visualise the pieces in my mind ... all that NxE5 stuff. I have to see it all layed out on the board to really make sense of it. Mind numbing stuff, and I mostly dozed in the sun.
Went to bed for a brief mid-afternoon nap, as has become my recent habit. Home at 3am this morning and then up at 9, so feeling pretty lacklustre.
Charlie came round and we did some training. After two weeks of injury and illness I am not quite as fit as I should be. Still fun though.
My housemate Tommy and I made Shepherd's Pie, aided by several glasses of cheap red wine ... and we then played an embarassingly nerdy boardgame (I could tell you what it is, but you'd never read this blog again). Current cumulative scores:
Tommy 2And now ... sleep again, I guess.
