The Mime Set at Bar Open tonight

The Mime Set play at Bar Open tonight from 10pm. It's free, so unless you have the flu, like everyone else in Melbourne, you really have no excuse for not going.

The Mime Set are a rather cool vaguely 'post-rock' outfit - imagine PJ Harvey meeting Because of Ghosts. I'm bad with my music genres - as in, I just make them up. (I was once in a post-rock ambient punk band, although despite our best efforts we were labelled electronica. Stupid genres).

I'll be heading heading down after band* practice. Given the fact that currently I have no friends** feel free to come say hello.

* Ignore the band site. Just manipulating our GoogleJuice. We haven't reworked the design since our old guitarist quit ... and the old design had a nice big picture of band with old guitarist featured prominently. I was all for naively hand drawing new guitarist on top of old guitarist, but was voted down. Understandably.

** This is not entirely true. I do, of course, have several friends, it's just that they all seem to be couples
and engaging in some sort of winter hibernation process or, in the case of Charlie, studying 8 (!) subjects at uni and completely swamped by quantum mechnanics. Or something. He has told me, but I don't understand a word he says.
